The department aims to encourage learners to analyse, explore and evaluate a range of media texts and to decipher their hidden ideological messages which are aimed at mass and niche audiences.

G324: Advanced Portfolio in Media
- Learners study film promotion and create, film and edit a film trailer, produce a media portfolio and a presentation of their research, planning and evaluation.
G325: Critical Perspectives in Media
- Section A: Learners are required to answer two questions on theoretical evaluation of production.
- Section B: Candidates answer one question from a choice of six from Contemporary Media issues.
